Painted shortly after Enamoured (link here). This painting similarly showcase the love and support from friends and family from the concussion. This type of head injury is common in sports and many times the darkness wins and their downfall ends in death. Many people assume if you ‘look’ good on the outside you are totally fine inwardly. That is completely the opposite case. Many of us struggle with our own challenges in life. Some do not wish to speak about it, I choose to paint. I choose to talk about how I feel from depression and anxiety caused by the head injury and start a conversation about mental health. By using art as a way to channel these topics which are still taboo we can all agree that art and being creative is important for our mental health.
What is your go to escape when you are down?
