The Escape
Acrylic on Canvas
15" x 30"
This 15"x30" acrylic on gallery style canvas depicts an apple orchard in Caledon, Ontario. Capturing a moment in time where my head space needed clearing, I escaped to a friend property with my easel, canvas and paints to leave the noise of world. Sometimes there are so much stress and demand to produce, to be perfect, to look your best, to not show any vulnerability you are left this shell of 'trying' to be someone you are not. In this moment I felt like crumbling. So as usual. I painted. I feel better. My mind is cleared. I was with the birds, the wind, the sky the earth. I could feel my body letting go of all that is. Not only was this a physical escape but it was an emotional and mental one too.
“Take your time healing, as long as you want. Nobody else knows what you’ve been through. How could they know how long it will take to heal you?” — Abertoli
