Canadian Family PHYSICIANS  - March 2022 edition

Picture
Picture
Contacted by Creative Strategists, Michael Fong, of Canadian Family Physicians who came across my story through other news articles about using arts after my concussion. Any recognition I received in the medical field is a large accomplishment. I believe in the importance of arts on our mental health as it has continually evolved my emotions so teaching, talking, sharing my story is important for those overcoming their challenges through creativity.

Joy Rising, 48" x 48" Acrylic on Canvas, 2018

Painted shortly after a mild stroke. I had a hard time processing feeling, explaining things in sentences. My brain was similar to the concussion and it didnt work normally. I was sent to a stroke clinic for a while and many tests. Once I started feeling better and was more mobile. I painted. This is the painting created. It expresses how I feel where I can think freely again. It is titled Joy Rising.

This painting was chosen to be in the Ontario Society of Artist Emerging Artist Exhibition.
